Busy. Busy. Busy.

Sorry for my absence, but luckily I’ve been super busy working! Oye, 12 hour days are killer, but it felt good to be non-stop again.

Sweater: Zara. Jeans: Yanuk. Scarf: Vintage. Hat: San Diego Hat Co. Shoes: Ferragamo.

I chopped the bottom of these very old flares to turn them into floods. I swear I’ve had these jeans since I was 16, they were due for a DIY project.

**I’m also obsessed with these Ferragamo Chelsea Boots. I found them @ a Garage Sale for $5.00!

Monday In My Almost Missoni.

It’s Monday in my almost Missoni. Well it’s as close to the real Missoni as I’ll be able to get to right now. Oh how I wish these pants were real, but they are pretty close, wouldn’t ya say?

I know I should be blogging about all the Golden Globes looks from last night, but I feel like everyone already has and is. My favorite though was Michelle Williams, I found it the most interesting and risk taking. Also, there was an incredibly ridiculously amount of NUDE GOWNS–a new trend??

My photos have a much different look today, because my friend was trying out his brand new flash, it almost looks cartoony or strangely animated to me.

These pants were a Christmas gift from my madre, the label is Akira Chicago.

Tired Of Being Sick.

How is it that I’m sick again, I have no idea. So I’m living on these magical Asian Crystals. Ginger, Lemon, & Honey, does a body good. MMmmm.

My other anti-biotic: L A U G H T E R. I’m so proud of my stylish pooch in a paper boy hat: Amos.

This always puts a smile on my face.

BENSON BACKPACKS.

If you haven’t heard about this cause, listen up, it’s all about The BENSON BACKPACK. A convenient and stylish knapsack, which donates $10.00 of it’s proceeds to the Knock Foundation, who fund children’s education in Tanzania.

Help support the cause and read about the touching and inspiring story of how it all came to be @ BENSON BACKPACKS

My favorite color is the natural denim!

Gianfranco Ferrè.

The Holiday’s are over, I’ve made it back to NYC, and now it’s time to start getting back into the swing of things. I thought it was going to be bitter cold by this time of year, but last Friday was unusually warm. Lucky for me, I got to test out my new Gianfranco Ferre jacket.

I recently just scored this beaut back @ home in Michigan for only $15, which is UNHEARD of! There is an amazing resale shop by my parents house in Ferndale called Regeneration. If you’ve got eyes like a hawk while browsing through the racks, you can find the most INSANE designer pieces for ridiculously cheap!

Love love love the tangerine color, and motorcycle jacket style.

Tangerine+Navy Stripes=Best/Chicest Combo Ever.

Motown Museum.

The other day on one of my “at home excursions“, I popped into the Motown Museum. What seemed to be a normal Detroit home, ended up being filled with the colorful history of a music genre that can put anyone in a better mood: MOTOWN. It was probably one of the most fun and interactive museum tours I’ve been on, which included lots of singing, dancing, and me leaving with the feeling that you can make anything happen, anywhere, at anytime no matter who you are.

My Top 10 Favorite Motown Songs:

1. Sitting on the Dock of the Bay–Otis Redding
2. You’ve Really Got A Hold On Me–Smokey Robinson & The Miracles
3. Baby I Need Your Loving–The Four Tops
4. Signed, Sealed, Delivered–Stevie Wonder
5. Get Ready–The Temptations
6. Money–Barrett Strong
7. War–Edwin Starr

Playing Dress Up.

My friend Simbarashe Cha (he is literally a jack of all trades–photographer, writer, musician, and the most amazing friend & person EVER) wanted to do an impromptu photo shoot the other night. He was experimenting with lenses and settings & I was playing dress up.

It’s a very raw look into my ‘real & very old’ New York apartment, in which I have a love/hate relationship with.

“I don’t live in either my past or my future. I’m interested only in the present. If you can concentrate always on the present, you’ll be a happy man. Life will be a party for you, a grand festival, because life is the moment we’re living now.”–PAULO COELHO | THE ALCHEMIST

I M A G I N A T I O N is more important than knowledge.”–Albert Einstein

“It’s amazing how you can get so far from where you’d planned, and yet find it was exactly where you needed to be.–SARAH DESSEN

Maybe i would become a mermaid… i would live in the swirling blue-green currents, doing exotic underwater dances for the fish, kissed by sea anemones, caressed by seaweed shawls. I would have a dolphin friend. He would have merry eyes and thick flesh of a god. My fingernails would be tiny shells and my skin would be like jade with light shining through it I would never have to come back up.”–FRANCESCA LIA BLOCK

The Rooftop: My favorite part of the apartment.

I love that feeling. You know, the one you get when you take a deep breath and suddenly everything feels like it’s going to be okay. When you’re hopeless as can be, and life is going nowhere, there’s those moments we have every now and then where we just stop, and we get this feeling, that can’t be described, but you just.. you just feel like everything really is going to be okay. Like the world stopped spinning for a second, and everything was clear. I need more of those moments.”–THE X

….I’m hoping the next time we do this I will be living in a brownstone in the West Village with my own personal stoop….
